The Language of Names and Titles

People, places and things are referred to by names and titles. In migrant cultures, what we call others, especially those who are older or important, can either cause offence or show respect. In the Western world, we also use titles such as Mr, Miss, Mrs, Ms, Dr and other terms. Which one do you use and when? What are the rules? This lesson explains how you should use such names and titles in your speaking and writing.
